Tune in for family favorites.

Our family has a wonderful tradition that I hope will continue for generations. That tradition is the family reunion complete with family music. Many of my mother's siblings are musicians as was my grandfather. Some play violin, some guitar, some piano or all of the above. Harmonica was also played by a few. At the reunion, we get together and play those old songs, and sometimes newer ones get brought in too. This is my absolute favorite group of people to play with, and I love to play these well known songs. One of my favorite old songs is Abilene, a song that was recorded by Buck Owens. Another old favorite is Anytime which was recorded by Eddy Arnold. I never heard those early recordings, but I learned them from Uncle Pat, and from Uncle Will. I sing them in different keys than they do, naturally, so my lyric sheets reflect that. This post is especially directed at any cousins who have been missing out, and want the chance to learn some songs that everybody knows.
