Dave's visit

Dave didn't arrive here until NewYear's Eve eve, so we started the party one night early.
Dave and I didn't really sit down and play guitar together until a few days before he left, when we collaborated on this song. Sometimes all you need is someone to help with the odd word or phrase, or an idea for a change

Well, here's the song.

It snowed a little while he was here, so he got to run the shovel and the snowblower a few times. Thanks Dave!

August 2013

This month was full of ups and downs, but in all the busyness Vince and I made our way up to Fran's place at Lake Bonaparte at least a couple of times. We also get together in the winter.  Here's a video we recorded of an old family favorite.

March Madness

There's a law in physics that states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. We don't have to think about it too much, it just happens. I think this post is the result of my reaction to losing someone I admired and loved; Uncle Grant. Sometimes we wish we had done things better or differently when we reflect on the time we had with our family. I decided that I'm not going to wait any longer to post these two videos of Uncle Pat in order to share them with all of you. I have been so blessed to be in this gigantic family, but it does not remain frozen in time. It is a living, breathing, moving creature and we need to realize that it is marching on...

Just a little blurb

When the kids were home for Thanksgiving, Chuckie set me up with a domain name and started building a web site for me. I've been trying to sort out what should be blog content and what should be website content. I've come up with this idea; the blog will be what most blogs are, my thoughts about different songs, recent events, the occasional recording, and things of that sort. The web site will hopefully be informative, perhaps an extension of my guitar lessons with lyric sheets and links to web sites. I think there will be some cross-over at times. I hope  my readers enjoy the content of both. Let me know what you think!

Now that's what I call a summer!

This was a great summer for music. Fran Thesier and I played at the Marina at Lake Bonaparte 3 times! We played around the campfire, we played on the porch, we even played on a boat. We learned a few new songs and revived some old ones. We got those fingers in shape, and now we just have to keep them that way.

The Reunion Song

This is a classic song for summer, and I can't believe it's not already on this blog.  I will be putting up the lyrics shortly.Reunion
